Nave Bella Bohemia
The German professional magazine Schiffahrt Hafen Bahn und Technik has prepared an extensive article about the first electric cruise boat Bella Bohemia.
Bella Bohemia is the latest addition to PRAGUE BOATS' modern and ecological fleet. The aim of our company is to ensure ecological and environmentally friendly operation of boats on the Vltava River. That is why we are investing in fleet modernisation, engine replacement on older boats and new service and maintenance technologies.
In November 2019, we launched the Bella Bohemia for experimental operation in Prague. As the first large all-electric cruiser, the boat attracted the interest of both the professional public and Prague residents. Although the operation of the electric boat is not easy in our present conditions, we are constantly striving to improve the ratio of silent and emission-free vessels in our city.
In keeping with the company tradition of naming boats after our country, the new boat was called Bella Bohemia and was thus included in the "Bohemia" series of boats. This includes our other modern ecological boats, such as Agnes de Bohemia, Bohemia Rhapsody and Grand Bohemia, which PRAGUE BOATS christened in the summer of 2018.
After trial operation, the Bella Bohemia will gradually start to be used for sightseeing cruises. With panoramic windows and an open top deck, it offers stunning views of the surrounding landmarks like the Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, the National Theatre, the Dancing House and Vyšehrad. Year-round operation is possible thanks to air-conditioning and heating.
The Bella Bohemia is a medium-sized boat with a length of 25 m, but its total capacity is up to 250 people. It will moor at the eco-friendly marina on Kampa Island.
