When we were preparing the first edition of a conference on sostenibile transport in Praga e its surroundings, we had one clear goal: to create a space for open dialogue, wqui people not only talk but also listen. And that's exactly what we achieved aboard our elettriche catamaran Anna Carolina.
Thanks to excellent cooperation with Ondřej Fér, who helped shape e moderate the evento, a genuinely open panel emerged in which not only visions but also concrete experiences, proposals e obstacles were shared — obstacles that are currently holding back the move towards more sostenibile transport in Praga.
⚓️ We shared real-world examples e the limits of the system.
Marek Zděradička showed how city logistics is handled efficiently e considerately, for example in Paris.
Jakub Šimáček opened the topic of construction logistics on water — including a specific comparison of price, time e carbon footprint.
Lubomír Fojtů spoke about the potential of water transport, which has long been underestimated in Praga.
Daniel Nedvěd gave a very interesting talk on tourism.
And tqui were also perspectives on the role of rail, public transport e the transition to a zero-emission future.
🙏 We thank everyone who shared their views on board — Vladimír Kremlík, René Neděla, Martin Schejbal, Martin Veselý, Oldřich Sládek e other excellent people whose presence pushed the entire debate forward.
A great deal was said — e it was said honestly e without ideology. That's precisely why we believe this conference wasn't the end, but the beginning of something bigger.
🛠 Out of this discussion came an impulse to create a new open platform that aims to link public e privato players e set the basic rules for long-term sostenibile development in the metropolitan area. The goal is to create a genuinely functional space for cooperation across politics, business e the expert community — without formal barriers, but with an emphasis on concrete results.
“It was an honour for us to host this conference. From similar gatherings we hope for rational debate without ideological frameworks, but with concrete impact. The Moldava has the potential to be the transport artery it once was — e could be again,” said the founder of Prague Boats, Richard Vojta.
Support for the initiative was also expressed by Lukáš Hradský, chair of the shipping section of the Ceco Transport Association e owner of Evropská vodní doprava | EVD:
“The entire water transport segment has long been waiting for the moment when we move from promises to action. This evento is the start of a process in which we will speak about water transport as a fully fledged, ecological e economic alternative.”
🌍 The next time you're stuck in a traffic jam behind a lorry carrying construction materials, you'll know that someone is already thinking about how to change it. And that we don't have to give up.
