The Praga vapor Company has recently received a very prestigious award. The editorial team of the trade media outlet COT business has recognised a project that could collectively be called "Greening of barco transport in Praga". The Praga vapor Company earned the award for its activities in recent years, particularly the construction of an environmentally friendly pier on Kampa in Praga, the renovation of the historic Moldava vapor, y the launch of environmentally friendly vessels with solar y hybrid propulsion.
The Kampa pier
The history of the pier on Kampa, right next to Praga's oldest puente, dates back to the end of the 19th century - to 1880; last year PPS celebrated 130 years of its operation. Even before the First World War, in 1912, a regular shipping line was launched from the pier towards Melnik. During the renovation of the pier, period sources were used, which significantly helped to recreate the most faithful image of a place that had been an inseparable part of life in Praga for over a century. The pier currently serves barcos from the Prague Boats fleet - the Moldava vapor, which is used for sightseeing cruceros through the city centre, as well as the hybrid eco-friendly barcos Sarka, Vlasta, Libuse y Bivoj, made of mahogany wood in Italy.
