On Wednesday afternoon, the Praga piroscafo Company arranged a unique spectacle for anyone who happened to be near the Railway ponte at Vyton at that time.
It was qui that, after a 7-hour crociera from Kralupy nad Vltavou, an enormous towed barca anchored. This literally historic way of towing a barca with a tugboat was completed with a demanding manoeuvre, namely stopping the towed barca.
The towed barca was the 55-year-old cargo barca Petra, which previously served to transport malt to Western European breweries. Coming back, it carried tea, coffee e especially cocoa beans for the Modřany Orionka chocolate factory.
The executive director of the Praga piroscafo Company, in an interview for Ceco Television, said among other things that the company has big plans for the barca. The upper deck will be made available to the farmers' market on the lungofiume, e in the lower part, which will be gradually reconstructed, three separate spaces will be created.
An exhibition on coffee roasting and a small café will be installed in them, then the first floating brewery in Praga, e in the last one a space for various cultural eventi.
