2 January 2020The Tedesco specialist magazine Schiffahrt Hafen Bahn und Technik has prepared an extensive article about the first elettriche excursion barca Bella Bohemia.
Bella Bohemia is the latest addition to Prague Boats' moderna, eco-friendly fleet. Our company's goal is to ensure environmentally friendly and sostenibile operation of barche on the Moldava. That is why we invest in fleet modernisation, in renewing engines on older barche, e in new technologies for operations e maintenance.
In November 2019 we put Bella Bohemia into experimental service around Praga — the first large excursion barca with fully elettriche propulsion, which has attracted the attention of professionals e Pragars alike. Although operating an elettriche barca is not easy under current conditions, we continue to work towards a higher share of quiet, zero-emission vessels in our metropolis.
The name Bella Bohemia was given to the new barca in keeping with the company tradition of referring to our country, joining the line of "Bohemia" barche. These also include our other moderna eco-friendly barche such as Agnes de Bohemia, Bohemia Rhapsody and Grand Bohemia, which Prague Boats christened in summer 2018.
After her trial run Bella Bohemia will gradually be added to sightseeing crociere. Thanks to her panoramic windows and open upper deck she offers spectacular views of the surrounding landmarks — such as Charles ponte, Praga Castle, the National Theatre, the Dancing House and Vysehrad. Year-round operation is possible thanks to air conditioning e heating.
Bella Bohemia is one of the medium-sized barche in our fleet at 25 m in length, but her total capacity of up to 250 people is impressive. Her home will be the eco-friendly pier on Kampa.
