Prague Boats enters a strategic partnership with CTU for the future of water transport

On Friday, 29 May 2026, aboard our fully electric catamaran Anna Carolina, we signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Faculty of Transportation Sciences of the Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU) and the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics (CIIRC CTU).

Our shared goal is to support the development of sustainable water transport and to explore new ways of integrating boat transport into the concept of the smart cities of the future. The cooperation will connect experience from the everyday operation of electric vessels with the latest knowledge in transport, energy, digitalisation and smart city technologies.

We are proud that over the past few years Prague Boats has become one of Europe's pioneers of electric passenger boat transport. Our fleet today comprises seven electric vessels and carries hundreds of thousands of passengers every year. Thanks to this experience, we can offer a unique operational environment and valuable data for the research and development of new solutions in the field of eco-friendly mobility.

The signed memorandum is another important step on our journey towards modern, zero-emission transport. We believe that combining the top academic environment of CTU with the practical experience of Prague Boats will bring innovations that will help take water transport on the Vltava — and its role within smart cities — to a new level.
