Vltava Day 2026 Aboard the Vyšehrad Steamboat

On Sunday, March 22, the Vltava Day took place in Prague, symbolically opening the new season on the river and attracting thousands of visitors to the riverbanks and boat decks. The all-day program offered guided tours, free cruises, demonstrations by rescue services, and activities for families with children.

Prague Boats took part in the event at one of the most striking landmarks of Rašín Embankment – the historic steamboat Vyšehrad, which today serves as a floating Steamboat Museum. Visitors could explore its decks, interiors, and an exhibition dedicated to the history of steamboating in Prague, including a look at the original steam engine and many unique technical details of this cultural monument from 1938.

Vyšehrad is permanently moored at Rašín Embankment and does not sail, yet thanks to the new museum exhibition, the story of the Vltava steamboats continues to live on board. Vltava Day showed the great public interest in this piece of river history – the deck was full of visitors all day long, and you can revisit the atmosphere in our photo gallery.
