The Poseidon boat, which previously belonged to our fleet, will have its new home in southern Moravia, where it has been moved after a very demanding transport. It will carry tourists on the Vranov Dam, where the 32 m long and 5.4 m wide boat will also become the largest vessel.
The transport of this boat from Prague all the way to southern Moravia was the result of long-term preparations, careful measurements, patience and precise work by the entire transport team.
Poseidon set off from Prague on 9 April and headed along the Elbe to Tynec nad Labem. Only there did the long and demanding move to the Znojmo region await it. The boat was loaded onto a flatbed truck and on Tuesday 12 April it set off in the direction of the Vranov Dam, where it was supposed to arrive in the early evening of 14 April.
The route this 57-tonne boat took was not planned via the motorway because of the total weight and height. Transporting it overnight could not be chosen either, because the cables hanging over the road and branches that needed to be avoided would not have been visible.
So Poseidon set out on minor roads through Caslav, Havlickuv Brod, Zdar nad Sazavou, Velke Mezirici and Znojmo.
On Friday 15 April in the afternoon, after a few minor complications, the largest crane in the Czech Republic finally lowered the Poseidon boat onto the surface of the Vranov Dam, as captured in our photos.
Since the Poseidon boat is in perfect technical condition, the modifications relate primarily to expanding the capacity to 200 places, so it should start operations on 23 April. We wish it the best of luck in its new home.
