An exhibition called Sacral Prague opened today at the St George Convent at Prague Castle. The exhibition is part of the Architecture Week festival, which is taking place in Prague from 17 August to 18 October 2015.

The official opening was attended by Prague Councillor for Culture Jan Wolf, Minister of Culture Daniel Herman and also Prague Archbishop Dominik Duka. Also present were Architecture Week festival director Petr Ivanov and Jiří Skalický, head of the Prague heritage care department, whose team prepared the Sacral Prague exhibition.

Sacral Prague is one of the largest exhibitions of this year's festival. Visitors can see roughly 25 of the most important sacral buildings of Prague in an unusual format.

Significant architecture is presented through three-dimensional models, photographs, video projections and examples of architectural elements. Highlights of the exhibition include printed replicas of stained-glass windows that decorate the windows and recreate the authentic atmosphere you find in Gothic churches.
