On Thursday 21 February we attended the opening of the Prague Business and Innovation Centre and the launch of the second round of calls under the Prague Voucher programme, which seeks out and rewards quality business projects in the capital.
In the presence of the Mayor of Prague Zdeněk Hřib and the Councillor for education, sport, science and business support Vít Šimral, the Prague Business and Innovation Centre was officially launched. The centre is located on the ground floor of the Škoda Palace and aims to provide comprehensive information on business and innovation support from both public and private sources, all in one place.
The Prague Business and Innovation Centre offers space with modern technology, and Prague City Hall staff plan to host a range of educational events of various formats and provide one-on-one consultations there.
A special information package for entrepreneurs will also be available, along with a database of tools to support business and innovation. One of the key tasks will be cooperation with universities and national institutions for the better development of the metropolis.
Prague Voucher launches its 2nd call
New calls under the Prague Voucher grant programme were also presented at the centre's opening. From 18 March to 18 April this year, projects can be submitted via the new "Submit a project" online application.
The Prague Voucher targets mainly start-up businesses. "We are striving for maximum support of meaningful business projects. With the Prague Voucher we want to reach small and medium-sized companies, and primarily those that have been operating for no more than three years. To such people delivering quality projects we are offering reimbursement of up to 85 percent of the costs," said Prague Councillor Vít Šimral.
