On Sunday 28 June, a unique transport of giant beer tanks took place. On the section from Germany to Lovosice, our cargo boat Praha and tugboat Beskydy were also involved.
The uniqueness of the whole operation lay primarily in the size of the tanks. Each beer tank is 24 metres long, has an outer diameter of six and a half metres and weighs 30 tonnes. The beer tanks were so enormous that, together with the harbour crane, another crane had to operate in tandem to handle them.
The rest of the journey from Lovosice to Plzeň was completed by the tanks as oversized cargo by road. They'll soon hold Christmas lager.
