A festive ceremony took place this Sunday in Davle. The town was awarded the title "Raftsmen's Town" directly by the President of the European Raftsmen's Association and a banner was consecrated.
This happened on the occasion of the St Kilian pilgrimage to St Kilian's Island, during which Holy Mass was celebrated by His Eminence Cardinal Dominik Duka.
To the island, which lies in Davle just above the confluence of the Vltava and the Sazava, all participants were transported by the historic steamboat Vltava and after the ceremony she carried them back again.
