Today on St. Nicholas Day we prepared a special St. Nicholas cruise with gift-giving for children.
According to an old tradition, the night from December 5 to 6 is the time when St. Nicholas, accompanied by a devil and more recently also an angel, walks around and praises the good children and gives them small gifts, while scolding the naughty ones, with the devil symbolically punishing and frightening them.
The cruise sailed on our oldest and largest Vysehrad steamer, which was moreover this year declared a cultural monument. We chose it in order to accommodate as many guests as possible, but also to celebrate this exceptional day in the traditional and beautiful setting that only a steamer can offer.
We believe that today's special cruise was a wonderful experience not only for the children, but also a pleasant moment for their parents.
