It is probably no secret to you that the holiday of lovers, St Valentine's, comes from the Anglo-Saxon countries and is derived from the legend of the priest Valentine, who, against the emperor's ban, married couples in love and was himself executed for it on 14 February.
You may not know, however, that the holiday also has another origin, in the Ancient Roman Lupercalia festival, when on the eve of this day slips of paper bearing the names of young girls were placed in an "urn of love", and were then drawn by young men. The girl drawn in this way became the "sweetheart" of the young man who chose her in the following year.
The two holidays then merged into one, and on this day couples in love give each other gifts with a heart theme, as a symbol of love. That is why we, too, have prepared a special product for our customers — a romantic Valentine's cruise, on which, as you can see in the gallery, decorations with heart motifs were not missing either.
