Literature Night on the Vltava steamboat

The Vltava steamboat became one of the nineteen reading places within the literary happening Night of Literature 2019. Martin Myšička, a famous actor, was reading the Norwegian author from the Book of the Sea by Morten A. Strøksnese. The translation of this book won the Magnesia Litera 2019.

The unique atmosphere of the historical steamboat and probably also the thematic link with the work attracted more than 500 listeners. Even the author of the book and the representative of the Norwegian Embassy in the Czech Republic attended the reading on the Vltava steamboat.

The Literature Night is organized by the Czech Centers, this time in cooperation with the Prague 2 City District. The 13th year of this event has offered the general public the opportunity to become familiar with the works of contemporary European writers.

The boats of Paroplavba and PRAGUE BOATS annually host a dozen charity events and provide a unique experience to thousands of people, such as a boat evening for the KlaPeto Foundation, children's readings from Czech authors, or the Mental Power Prague Film Festival.
