Composting brings us one step closer to zero waste

PRAGUE BOATS is introducing a unique way of recycling organic waste — kitchen leftovers — that is efficient, safe and completely environmentally friendly.

The newly installed GreenGood composter is an innovative technology that prevents waste at source by processing it in the very place where it is produced — in our case, directly on board our boats. Through the action of microorganisms, high temperatures and air, waste volume is reduced by up to 90% and converted into organic fertiliser. The composter handles up to 70 kg of organic waste per day, processing 500 kg per week to produce 40–50 kg of compost. We use the resulting compost, mixed with soil, as fertiliser for the trees on our "green" pontoons and in the planters along the embankment.

Thanks to this closed loop, we not only handle organic waste in an environmentally friendly way but also support the growth of greenery along the embankment, which contributes to a better microclimate.
