Greening of our fleet continues
16 January 2020
Eco-friendly operation of our boats is an important part of our company's long-term strategy. Over the past few years we have retired four boats (Visla, Sumava, Poseidon and Bohemia), which no longer met strict environmental standards. We have replaced these vessels with new, modern, environmentally friendly ones. They include our large glass-roof boats Grand Bohemia, Bohemia Rhapsody and Agnes de Bohemia, as well as smaller vessels such as Horymir, Semik, mahogany boats and others.
The flagship of our eco-friendly operation is our newest Bella Bohemia, which we put into service in autumn 2019. It is unique because it runs purely on electric power. You will most often find her on sightseeing cruises from Kampa.
Greening of our fleet also includes replacing boat engines. We are currently swapping the 14-year-old Caterpillar engine on the Odra for a modern John Deere. This was the oldest engine still in service in our fleet. All others were built in 2009 or later. The Odra sails on regular cruises to Prague Zoo.
Our environmental efforts do not end with the fleet — we try to act responsibly towards the environment in many other areas too. If this topic interests you, take a look at our page We care about the environment.
