Today, participants of the Baby Jesus's Grandchildren project joined us for a cruise. Twenty grandmothers and grandfathers from the Severní Terasa retirement home in Ústí nad Labem set off, together with their carers, on a boat trip through the centre of Prague. For many of them it was an opportunity to look back on times long past, when they first visited the Czech capital.

"Our clients wished for this trip as part of the Baby Jesus's Grandchildren project. Thank you very much for your kindness," said Ing. Ivana Holinková, head of the social department and quality manager at the Severní Terasa retirement home, in her thanks to PRAGUE BOATS.

The Baby Jesus's Grandchildren project is just one of dozens that PRAGUE BOATS has supported since the beginning of the year. Every year, the boats of PRAGUE BOATS and the Prague Steamboat Company provide a unique experience to thousands of people with disabilities, children without a home and seniors.

The largest charity event so far took place on the historic Vltava steamboat — the Mental Power Prague Film Festival, featuring films starring (non-)actors with intellectual and combined disabilities. Around three hundred people attended, and the cruise also included a concert by the band Biopop v Davli. Alongside the screenings and the presentation of the Mental Power awards, a cultural programme with catering was held on board.

In October PRAGUE BOATS is hosting a charity event on the Bohemia Rhapsody for the KlaPeto endowment fund, where the proceeds from the 6th annual climb of Sněžka for Matýsek Sivak from Bezdružice will be presented; at two months old he suffered an inflammatory febrile illness whose cause has never been fully clarified. His family will use the funds mainly for assistive devices and rehabilitation that are not fully covered by health insurance.
