Senate conference on sustainable transport: an important step for the future

An expert conference focused on the future of sustainable transport was held in the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. The event was held under the patronage of Senator Josef Bazala and took place in cooperation with the Economic Chamber of the Capital City of Prague, the Central European Institute for Transport Development, and with the professional involvement of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The topic followed up on previous editions dedicated to sustainable water and air transport. This year, the focus was on freight transport and its sustainability—a key area for achieving decarbonization goals, energy security, and the competitiveness of the Czech economy.

While several sectors have managed to gradually reduce greenhouse gas emissions, emissions in transport continue to grow. This makes the pressure for modern and environmentally friendly solutions more important than ever.

The conference brought valuable insights into how transport—including water transport—can become more efficient, environmentally considerate, and technologically prepared for the challenges of the future.
